Turkish coffee cups are usually made of porcelain, which provides the most natural and healthy hot drink. Although the material is the same, there are many model, shape and color options. It may require a special effort to choose the most suitable coffee cup among the many options. Although porcelain is a material that can break if dropped, it is wonderfully durable and Turkish coffee cups are destined to become the longest-lasting kitchen utensils in your home. The most important point when choosing a Turkish coffee cup is that it should have a shape that will maintain the temperature of the coffee and prevent the foam from dispersing. Wide-mouthed cups not only cool the coffee faster because they come into contact with the surface more, but also cause the foam to spread because they have room to shake. For this reason, a Turkish coffee cup should have a shape that shrinks from the base to the rim or a straight cut from the base to the rim. Some coffee cups have decorative feet on the base. In Turkish coffee, which we are traditionally used to making in a cezve, it is the amount of coffee that provides the foam. For this reason, we will share with you some tips to make your coffee frothy.


1. After putting 1 full teaspoon of coffee for each person and a cup of water in the coffee pot, add coffee at the rate of 1 teaspoon for 4 people. You can think of it as adding your love in the last spoonful to make cooking coffee fun.

2. Turn the bottom of your coffee pot as low as possible, coffee cooked over low heat will not only taste better but will also help the coffee sediment to accumulate at the top of the pot. ,

3. Remove the coffee pot from the heat when you see the top sediment rising up the sides.

4. Using a dessert spoon, gently scoop small amounts of this sediment into the coffee cups.

5. Put the coffee pot back on the stove, but do not let it boil completely. You will see the top sediment re-form and swell. At this point, remove the coffee pot from the stove and turn off the heat.

6. Tilt your coffee cup on its side and slowly pour the coffee from the coffee pot over the rim. Thus, the grounds at the bottom, which you add with a spoon, will rise to the top and your coffee will be foamy.


Cezve or Coffee Machine?


The flavor of traditional Turkish coffee comes from its slow cooking and intense coffee taste. Coffee machines, which have recently entered every kitchen, have increased the cooking time of coffee. However, if the Turkish coffee is not cooked slowly, it is possible for it to give a burnt taste due to its dense particles. For this reason, choosing a cezve or even an electric stove will ensure that the coffee you sip will have a great flavor.
